FriendFeed popped out of nowhere for me.  I hadn't heard or seen of it until I saw a blog post from Robert Scoble.  With so many networks out there like Twitter, FaceBook, Flickr, etc. it's sometimes hard to keep track of all the people you follow.  FriendFeed helps out by displaying what exactly your friends and contacts are doing on other networks.  Once you signup (it's free), you just add as many of your own services as you like, and there are quite a few, and get connect...

Over the last few years, streaming music has grown in popularity as more and more people get high-speed Internet connections at home.  The convenience of opening up a web browser and hitting "Play" is hard to argue against.  No more sorting through CDs, or a massive MP3 collection.  And as time goes on, the sound quality has improved to the point where there's little discernable difference to the average user.

The next step beyond just having online radio stations of preset playlists was to let users select exactly what they wanted to listen to, or be able to intelligently suggest similar music based off a small amount of user input.

At the moment, there are many online radio services from folks like Yahoo, Napster, Last.fm etc.  But this article is about two services that compete on a more direct level:  Pandora and Deezer.

Can anybody please recommend a good Free FTP site?

Apparently this is needed in order to upload images to Joe User, when using Windows Live Writer.

Thanks for any leads.
So I've had a bit of time to go over the new JU, and, to be completely honest, I don't like it.  Not really at all.  I've played with all the new functions, and I find it to be unwieldy and I really just preferred the old version.

Let's be honest, though - JU1 is gone forever and that's okay.  I can get over it and used to the poo brown color, I guess.  (Whatever happened to the green in the first screen shots we saw?  Much better than poo brown.)

I have one big is...

I've seen a couple of contributors here lately complaining about their so-called 'privacy rights' in regards to their blogging activities.

One person got upset with Admin because they were able to verify that a certain family member (that this blogger does not wish to be associated with) was logging in multiple accounts from 'town x', as if relating two fictitious nicknames is somehow a violation of their 'privacy.' No real names or addresses were mentioned, yet accusations of 'sharing perso...

I have ZoneAlarm Security Suite version:7.0.462.000. I don't use it's antivirus.

I have not been able to get into Frostwire or Stardock IRC. I have tried setting the programs to trusted and allow all the way across. Nothing. Even when I turn off ZA, both programs still tell me 'Blocked by ZoneAlarm'.

Can anyone help with this?

I have used Flickr off and on for the last few months, and finally upgraded to a Pro account because it has become and invaluable way to share and organize my photos.  Recently I received a beta invite to Photophlow and have been trying it out for the last week or so.

The concept is rather simple, but the developers are doing a fantastic job implementing it.  Basically Photophlow is a way for Flickr users to share in real-time their photos with other users.  This is done in a ...

I ran across this browser a couple months back and put post here. Well it looks like the second beta has been released.

Yeah, bottom line is that it's another way to search the web. I play it with some and it's kind of fun. I'm not all that sure how practical it is and whether it would be more of a bother to use than just IE or FF or any other browser that you all ready have.

This probably falls more into the category of a toy right now. I though it might be worth a look for some of yo...

Yes, I am deaf, and here I am on the Internet. And I'm sure, by the way, that all of you have heard this rumor: Is there pride in being deaf? Well, here's the answer in one word: No. But back to my point, which is, I am deaf, I don't have any sort of non-advantage in typing, just because I'm deaf. Just to let you know, too, is this: There is nothing cultural about being deaf. The word deaf refers to people with hearing loss, and that's it. And please, I know this has got to do more with stereoty...

I know that we all tend to think of ourselves as being better than we really are.  We never see our own flaws, or rarely seem them I guess, but we're plenty quick to see flaws in others and stand around pointing at them and fanning flames in their direction when given opportunities to do so.

What am I talking about here?  Well, at another site I frequent there's one individual, much like the inferior officer here (the Clueless Old Liberal that frequently haunts and trolls here at Jo...

Hi all,

Here's a site with everything you wanted to know about Firefox 2.0.0.11 and includes some advanced tweaks and instructions on how to implement them. WWW Link I tweaked past versions of FF but haven't done any of these ones yet because this new version is running well.

This site is pretty long and in depth but I found the 'Advanced Tweaking pages, 6, 7, & 8 most informative. Hope some of you find this helpful. Check for '*Create' entries in about:config where these entries are no...
