Hello everyone, and welcome to another Dev Journal. Jupiter’s Forge development continues, but this week we’re going to take a break from talking about it. This is because we’ve seen many returning players coming back to OTC, and given that we’ve just celebrated Offworld’s first anniversary this past week it seemed like a good to time to catch them up on some of the major changes we’ve seen this year.

PART I: We are far away from Earth

There is no Earth here.

Earth is thousands of light years away.

The heroic Jenna Casey has settled a planet on the planet of Haven.

"Both updates are listed as compatibility updates for Windows 10 Version 1703. To make this clearer: these are dynamic updates and not updates that most users will come into contact with directly. They may be added to Windows 10 ISO images or installation sources, and are also provided during installation when the operating system runs an update check." gHacks.

By the way, RedneckDude has noted that MS has requested people not to download and install the Creator's Update be...

Some may say I need a psychiatrist, but I've always enjoyed politics and the topics involved. With that being said, wading into the sewage of political discourse these days is an exercise in madness. Gone are the days when such discourse could lead to anything remotely resembling a civilized exchange of ideas. We've ushered in a new era where most people who have such interest are more out to prove that they are right, and any person with any disagreement, or objection to any policy and ...

Last week we covered what’s available (and not available) on the surface of Io. The schedule says this week we’re going to have a special journal entry for OTC’s anniversary. That’s still coming in a couple of days, but for now we’re going to talk about all the new buildings available on Io and how you can use them to survive on this truly barren rock.

Crusade is the space strategy game made by 4X nuts for 4X nuts.   Let's do this.

[[..]]

What is Galactic Civilizations III: Crusade? In 2015, Stardock released the latest entry in its popular 4X space strategy game series, Galactic Civilizations III. 4X means eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate and is turn-based.  GalCiv III was well received (81 metacritic) and has a recent Steam review score of 82.

However, coming from Galactic Civilizations II (94 ...
Galactic Civilizations has the distinction of being the longest running strategy game developed by the same company.

Let's take a look at how it has changed.

It's no secret that Elon Musk (and others) are afraid of the huge, possible pitfalls of AI. And yes, usually what happens is something we never considered, sort of along the lines of "No one expects the Spanish Inquisition.", not that I think the Inquisition was at all like a Monty Python skit, but there are reasons to fear both "minded" or "mindless" machines. The irony is that they can be both simultaneously, thanks to AI.

So, Musk has come (it appears) to have come to Dr. Str...

Hello everyone, and welcome to our second dev journal about Jupiter’s Forge. Today we’re going to begin digging into the meat of the upcoming Offworld expansion, starting with the most obvious place, Io itself.

As we talked about last week, Io is not a pleasant place to be. A good look at the moon’s surface should reveal why. Immediately alarming is the fact that Io is covered in lava flows and volcanic pits. However, most of this lava is composed of basalt. This is in fact ...
In our previous entries, we've discussed specific major new features of Crusade.  For this entry, we're going to go through a guided tour of what's new in Crusade over GalCiv III in terms of features and gameplay.  Strap in!

Let me preface that this is long and probably a bit full of typos.  I wanted to get this out to you as soon as possible. It's long, but I hope you like it! -brad

I remember Jafo telling me about his rig, so you could imagine how horrified I was to see his beloved Level 10 being assailed and ridiculed by PC Gamer on a public forum... they list it as one of the "ugliest they've ever seen".

Due to the fact that I absolutely hate Contana and the way Microsoft collects data about people, I was curious if there was a good way to remove Cortana without harming the way Windows 10 works? Or should I consider buying a copy of 7?
